Kosoo Korean BBQ - Coquitlam Location

Delicious food, and good service. Nice atmosphere, a lively spot. The Cheese Chicken Galbi and Calamari was our favorite.

Kosoo Korean BBQ in Coquitlam has been mine and my partner’s favorite spot in the city for over a year. The variety and balance of flavors is unlike anything else we’ve tried—it’s food that makes you feel great, and the taste is unmatched. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, shaped by the care and attention Maru, the manager, brings every time. His ability to consistently facilitate an exceptional experience sets the tone for the whole restaurant. We’re genuinely grateful there’s a place like this—where the food, service, and energy all hit a level of excellence you don’t find often. Huge thanks to Maru, the kitchen team, and all the staff at Kosoo Coquitlam for consistently making each visit feel special.

We’ve tried many Korean BBQ spots around Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam, so we weren’t expecting to be blown away, but Kosoo truly impressed us. From the moment we walked in, we noticed how clean and fresh the space felt. There was no lingering grilled meat smell, and each table had its own ventilation system. The seating was comfortable, and everything looked well-maintained. We ordered Combo B for Two, which was more than enough for both of us—it could easily feed three. It came with: * Pork Belly 삼겹살, Marinated Rib Finger 양념 갈비, Marinated LA Galbi 양념LA갈비 * Choice of Soybean Soup or Soft Tofu Soup * Choice of Kimchi Pancake or Chives Pancake * BBQ Vegetable The meats were all excellent—nicely marinated, fresh, and tender. We especially liked the rib finger, and the pork belly had a great texture. The soft tofu soup had a comforting broth with just the right amount of spice. The kimchi pancake 김치전 was huge, packed with flavour, and filled with well-fermented kimchi. We really enjoyed it. Delicious! One of our favourite parts was the banchan (side dishes). Kosoo offers a wide selection, and everything tastes homemade and fresh. Refills were available on request, and the staff were very kind and responsive. We also appreciated how organized everything was. The team clearly cares about quality and presentation. It felt like a premium Korean BBQ experience without being overly fancy or overpriced. Overall, Kosoo exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, the service was solid, and the atmosphere was clean and welcoming. This place is worth checking out. Food: Must Try! There’s also 2-hour free street parking in the area. Tips: Each location has a unique atmosphere and menu. They have a private party room — a great option for group gatherings or special occasions. They offer a loyalty program — perfect if you plan to go back (we probably will!). They offer a discount on soju every day after 8 pm (happy hour). Would I Return: Yes

A comforting and chill Korean place, with some absolutely massive portion sizes. The two of us only ordered one dish, and ended up needing to finish it over the course of 2 meals... nothing to complain about of course! They have a delicious selections of different dishes on their menu, and I highly recommend trying out this place :)

Delicious food and great service! The oyster kalguksu was rich and flavorful, with fresh oysters and perfectly chewy noodles. The side dishes were tasty, and the beef was tender. The staff was very thoughtful—the service staff Ming Yu gave me extra napkins to clean my clothes since it was raining outside. Highly recommend!

First time visit and won’t last. A lot of good menus for personal and family. Great marinated, nice kimji soup and cheese wings. They have hot stone. Clean and nice restaurant. After dining here several times, I definitely owe this place a review. The food here has been excellent every time. Their meat for Korean BBQ is always fresh, marbled, and of the top quality. I had an Anago (eel) combo meal this time, and portions are massive. The eel was tender and super flavourful. The banchan was plentiful and the selection was great. The yogurt was a nice touch as well. I enjoy dining here and would not hesitate to come back again.

I ate here twice within the week. They close late at night and can enjoy the peace and quiet of the evening eating bbq. My husband and I enjoyed their kimchi rice too.
